Many religions lay extra importance on various techniques of meditation simply because they believe it can lead to Nirvana and bliss.
Different religions like Buddhism, Judaism and Christianity have their own ways of accomplishing the pure silence. Silence also helps to find out the true flavor of any situation. The din and bustle of the modern life always makes one wonder where has all the silence gone. Considering silence a virtue may not be entirely true. The reason being many therapists may suggest that silence can be a symptom of many other things.
