There have been various perspectives attributed to drug abuse and its harmful results. Drug abuse means the over use of certain restricted substances that causes harmful consequences. Amongst several viewpoints related to issue of drug abusiveness, the field of psychology and sociology also puts their different views forward.

As per sociological point of view, the issue of drug abuse is caused by one’s background, their surroundings, upbringing, and their social and cultural conditions. Psychology, on the other hand, thinks that the main influence for drug abuse is the mental state of a person. In fact, the cause can be combination of both these factors.

The social and economical background of people might also act as influence for this habit. Causes like unpleasant incidents in life, social or environmental circumstances, or even the company of friends with whom you stay might push you towards drug abuse.

Psychological, in contrast, says that it is the inner self of a person, which is the real influencer to drug abuse. The environment is not the sole force that drive you towards drug abuse, rather the addiction is so strong and irrepressible that it psychologically drives people towards it.

Again, there are several situations where we see people from similar socioeconomic background differs in drug abusing. Some such people might abuse drugs, whereas there are others who doesn’t. Sociology fails to explain this. Yet again, there are studies that states the reason for drug abuse as the personality or the addictive behavior of people.

It is often seen that the eating habits of your friends have a major influence on your eating habits. It is a common sight that when you are about to order some low calorie and healthy food, your friend orders some high calorie but tempting dish and you end up ordering the same. It has been proved that the eating habits of friends who are big eater rubs on to you.

This is not just restricted to food. Even smoking, taking vitamin or flu shots is contagious. A recent study has revealed that having a friend who likes to gorge on food increases the chances of you doing the same by 57%. It is not that they force you to do it; it is something you end up doing subconsciously.

Another habit that has major influence from friends is drinking. It is highly possible that if your friend circle is full of drinkers, you would end up drinking more than you did. This can have adverse affect on your weight, so watch out who you go out to eat with.

However, getting influenced by friends isn’t always bad. It has been proved that you are as likely to pick up the good habits from your friends as the bad habits. So, if you are in a mood to order some fries and you see your friends ordering salad, you are expected to follow suit.

So, basically we can conclude that we should be careful while being with friends and need to be strong and have your own set of agenda.

The finding of a recent study has revealed that religion can have a very profound influence in the life of an individual. It has been noted that people with religious beliefs are far more contended in their lives and have much better control over their lives compared to their counterparts. Religion can, at times, protect people from the shocks and disappointments of the daily lives. The people with religious beliefs are also at a lesser risk of suffering from psychological harms than the non-religious ones.

It has been observed that people with religious beliefs are much happier and seem to derive substantial psychological benefits in their lives. They have a sense of purpose in their lives which is not felt by the nonbelievers. There is also a school of thought which opines that religion can damage people, however, the findings compared with other studies indicate that religion has a positive effect which can be channelized by the individuals for their own good and also for the betterment of the society.

According to Terry Sanderson, who is a renowned UK secularist, there is absolutely no correlation between religion and happiness. He is of the opinion that happiness depends on the individual and to some extent to his genetic predispositions. A sound explanation about why people believe in God may satisfy the non-believers whereas a scientific documentation to prove that we are divinely designed to believe in the Almighty may satisfy the believers.

Sports have been existing in our society since time immemorial. They have evolved over the years and will, without a doubt, always continue to be a part of society. Sports have always had a positive effect on the society. Although, the professionalism in sports has brought along some negative effect recently but they in no way would be able to overshadow the positive impact which sports has in our society.

One of the most obvious positives of sports is the bonding that it creates among people. Sports has the ability to connect team members, fans which have the same favorites and also people with distinct backgrounds who have the same objective. The proof lies in the fact that even in ancient times, sports and stadiums formed the centre of cultural point of different cities and countries. Regardless of the era, sports has not lost its charm and can still unite people easily.

Apart from bonding people, sports also offers great social and physical benefit to the society. The zeal to win and do well in sports creates a set of strong value and attitudes in people which is also reflected in other aspects of their lives. Sports help in the development of a strong social environment which motivates people to constantly perform to the best of their abilities. Another positive aspect of sports is that it helps to build one’s self identity. The ability to get along with different people and performing to your best of abilities give you a sense of recognition in the society.

Reason is simple, because the choices we make in our daily life has a direct influence in our lives. The only trouble is to choose from the various options available for things that you need to choose. However, if one is clear enough in mind about what one wants, there won’t be any problem in choosing the right thing.

Take for instance, if we go to buy a pair of jeans, we would consider things like what kind of jeans fit us best and what is the latest fashion in jeans. Taking these factors in mind, the jeans we would choose would have a direct influence in our daily life. As if it is in sync with the fashion, then people will consider you up-to-date with the latest trends.

Not just in clothes, our choices in personal life, like choosing a life partner also have direct influence in our daily life. The decision or the choice we make today for a partner will remain with us till the end, so the choice is important so as not to repent later in life.

If you think you can master the art of controlling people you are wrong, you will never be able to control people, you can just influence them. Whether we agree or not, we all wish to get the power or secret of influencing people at work. This is mainly because we want to progress at work by taking our works out from other people. So, what all is actually needed to influence people, read on to know about it.

The key to influence people depends on three main needs, including, symbolic rewards, security and material gains. Majority of people seek these three things and influencing them becomes easy if they get any one or all of these things from you at work. Now, let us elaborate these three things.

Symbolic rewards meaning praises or recognition. You will easily succeed in influencing anyone at work if you give the praise and recognition a person requires. This way the person feels special and obliged and in a way is influenced by you.

People at work look for security and stability; so, an easy way to influence people at work is to give them security by being with them so that they can depend on you. In return what you get is their support, and you will have no difficulty in influencing them or convincing them at your point of views.

Lastly, material gain is one thing that can influence anyone on the earth. It’s true that many people stick to their morals but getting rewarded in terms of money or other possessions does play a great role in bringing people at your side.

Listen, don’t you mind about some “dirty” methods of competitive activity? I will give you one from my practice.

This is just a business, nothing personal and eventually I had to do it.

One of competitive firms came on our city and arranged a presentation about its opening and I had to ruin their performance. I used one technique called “black questions”.

This is an example: The hall where presentation was going to be held was full of people (actually their potential clients). I was sitting in the front raw as an ordinary visitor.

When representatives of “X” company finished to speak and asked audience about questions I started with the following:
Dear Sirs. Your speech was impressive and well prepared, but let me ask you something on behalf of all our audience (u see, first of all I’ve voiced identification with all presented audience).
You was telling us that been your client is so good because “X” company has so many advantages etc., but you haven’t even mentioned about any potential difficulties of probable troubles which could take place in our following cooperation.
As everybody knows that it is not real to lead business without troubles or risks but you didn’t tell us frankly about it.

Why? Don’t you even know about these risks? Are you not competent? Or, which is much worse, you’ve concealed it with definite purpose! Haven’t you?

My dear readers, you can just only imagine what they said after that)
