Am I in Love or is it Infatuation?

A person in your neighbourhood, or in office or at your school or even at university makes you feel that you can not live without him/her. Then this question comes in mind that is this love or mere infatuation. Through my experiences I am bringing forward some symptoms that may help you determine whether you are really struck by cupid or you are yourself trying to fly with the love angels.

Look out for these symptoms:

  • Feeling panic
  • Impatient attitude
  • Uncertainty
  • Jealousy
  • Strong Lust

If these are present in you, then its just Infatuation. Besides these symptoms, you will face difficulty in concentration. An intense desire to be with them physically and establish sexual contact will hover on you. This is biological, a woman’s attraction to a man, and vice-versa. But this ain’t love.

Love raises people. The entire thought process of lovers undergoes a change. It reminds me of one of the poem by Great Poet John Donne

“Call us what you will, we are made such by love;
all her one, me another fly,
We are tapers too, and at our own cost die,”

Therefore, lovers like Romeo and Juliet are ready to die for each other. They do not give a damn to what people say. Love also makes one acknowledge the sense of care, understanding and trust. Lovers think of each other’s welfare. They try to find out what is good or bad for each other. Love can occur even at first sight. We will discuss about this Love at First sight some other time.
