Depressed teens

Why do teens get depressed?

Teenagers today are the major victims of depression and the reasons behind this can be many and varied. If a teenager experiences a messed up home life, any divorce in the family (mostly of parents’), suffers from financial problems, breaks up with boyfriend or girlfriend; then such teens suffers from a probability of being depressed.

Symptoms of teen depression are:

  • You feel guilty without any good reason

  • You loose self confidence

  • Life seems to be hopeless to you

  • You grow up a negative attitude

  • You feel like you’re dying or have thoughts about committing suicide

The result of teen depression can be very harmful and dangerous which can be witnessed in various incidents. As a reaction to their depressed state sometimes teens come in the spell of alcohol, drugs or sex. They feel that drugs can only keep them away from the grief of their life and never minds wasting money. This desire for drugs gets such a peak that they are forced to steal money or valuables in their home only. Sometimes, this attraction for drugs itself becomes the major reason of suffering from depression.

Teens that become drug addict should be given sooner and faster treatment. It is better you get treatment and advice from experts before it becomes too late for you to combat this mental disease of depression and drug addiction. I will tell you about how to deal with stress and get out of it in my next write up…
