Mutual respect- if both the partners respect each other, I am sure they will completely be in awe of one another. Trust- it is the foundation of a relationship. If you keep eyeing on your partner and watching their acts, your bond will rupture now or later. Being protective to some extent is good, but defining its limits is a hard task. There is a thin line of distinction between getting protective or possessive for your partner. Understand the difference and do not fall for the second word. If your partner just goes by, while you are talking to your male friend, means his faith in you is perhaps unshakeable and if he stands by and eavesdrops your conversation with him then your relationship is in a big trouble.
