The Christmas season though being very festive and entertaining had also been harassing for some parents with their little children around. However, the good thing for such parents is that a recent research has revealed that spanking your kids may actually help them getting brainier. The startling results from the research carried out by the professor of psychology at Calvin College in Michigan says that children who get a spanking from their parents show better performance in school when they are teenagers.
These kids are also more expected to indulge in voluntary work and are more likely to join the university than their counterparts. So, apparently parents should stop worrying about their child and all they need to do is to give them a smack to help their brains function properly. There is another school of thought though which feels smacking the child may drive him directionless and may make him destined for failure. The best way to take the best out of a child is to shower your love and sensitivity.
However, one would agree that smacking a child does become necessary at times to make sure that things are not getting out of control. The child should also be old enough to understand the reason behind the smacking that he gets from the parents as smacking a two year old would make just about no difference to his behaviour. Most children’s group oppose smacking as they consider it as a form of physical harassment which only causes long term harm to the children.
