Forgetfulness

Have you again forgotten to pick up your kids from school? Or doing that pending assignment? Then, forgetfulness is the thing that is making your life miserable. Though forgetting things is not a crime but when it increases with age it does irritates not only the person who forgets himself but also others around him.

According to scientists, forgetfulness is a psychological problem that is associated with aging. The forgetting change is related to the chemicals necessary for brain cells for in inter-communication. The latest findings on the subject expanded the possibility that drugs and therapies can be developed to tune up the brain’s memory to remember things.

Tests were done on rats to examine the relationships between LTD, aging and memory. In these tests, rats were trained to find a hidden platform to climb out of a pool of water. Researchers then examined the rats’ neurons and used a weak electrical signal to make the synapses less sensitive. Ultimately, they found that aged rats and animals display “robust long-term depression”. The same thing applies to human beings.
