It is often seen that the eating habits of your friends have a major influence on your eating habits. It is a common sight that when you are about to order some low calorie and healthy food, your friend orders some high calorie but tempting dish and you end up ordering the same. It has been proved that the eating habits of friends who are big eater rubs on to you.
This is not just restricted to food. Even smoking, taking vitamin or flu shots is contagious. A recent study has revealed that having a friend who likes to gorge on food increases the chances of you doing the same by 57%. It is not that they force you to do it; it is something you end up doing subconsciously.
Another habit that has major influence from friends is drinking. It is highly possible that if your friend circle is full of drinkers, you would end up drinking more than you did. This can have adverse affect on your weight, so watch out who you go out to eat with.
However, getting influenced by friends isn’t always bad. It has been proved that you are as likely to pick up the good habits from your friends as the bad habits. So, if you are in a mood to order some fries and you see your friends ordering salad, you are expected to follow suit.
So, basically we can conclude that we should be careful while being with friends and need to be strong and have your own set of agenda.
